Merry Capsmas fellow fans!

We begin this.....unique...episode :P  with some goings-on in our work lives. I'll just say this---'Tis the season (for some crazy stuff).

 

Then we go into the recap of the on-ice action (3GP 1-2-0). Yeah lots of bad but a kick ass win to end the week against Carolina.

Another edition of Story Time with Young Blueliner makes an appearance.....features a game where a referee didn't do a good job and was told about it!

We give a shout to some great listeners and members of our Facebook group who have gone out of their way to help make Washington Capitals fans among the greatest in the NHL and all sports. (If I didn't call your name please don't take it personally---in fact I invite you to come on and let me have on one of our next episodes!)

Finally we end with our not really antipated Holiday game--Beninati or Nice! Which Caps player made the list? Listen and find out, or don't.

Show #270---NHL Week 10 and the Caps are still ROLLING! Special Guest Starring Cheryl Anne Forster

Well we're not too far from the Holidays and it's MORE than beginning to feel a lot like Capsmas! C4 fills in for the Mermaid again for this short week (2 games) of Caps on-ice action.Both wins were....unnecessarily exciting in that they were come from behind wins. But we still love it. That said, there's still a lot of ponder and some things to complain about, just not much :)

Next week will be our Holiday episode so we break out a practice round of......Beninati or Nice! Make your lists, we will checkit twice for you!

This week's episode is dedicated to the memory of Niall Patrick Green....may he rest in eternal peace.

 

Doing things slightly differently we begin with some personal business....cocktails and a HIgh School Football game. We move on with Anna taking the lead and reporting on the three Washington Captitals games (Two wins one OT loss) as she saw them. Due to prior commitments (49ers vs Bears) she tags out in favor of our Special Guest for this week, Blake Allen. Blake last joined us back on Episode #180 and is back to begin a dive into reading advanced stats/analytics in the sport of Ice Hockey. Specifically what about this year's Caps are the reason they are excelling this season. (FIRST PLACE BABY!!!!!)

It's an all new month and we evaluate how Our Caps are doing after two full months of play. It was a great help that they went 4-0 in this most recent week of play; the games of which Anna and I go over in detail.

SPOILER ALERT---As at least one of the games featured a disallowed goal, there WILL be a rant about goaltender interference. Humanity will figure out what is love before it figures out what is goaltender interference in the NHL.

Anna is back....just in time to help us get through some adversity. It was a 2-2 week for Our Capitals which saw them get through their annual Caps Fight Cancer game....as well as an injury to <gasp> Captain Alex Ovechkin,

We discuss the impact of the injury as well as the troubles the Caps have been having since. It is probably not as bad as it seems. That's our story and we are sticking to it.

Week 5 in the NHL sees a split of four games for Our Caps, Despite the losses there were some positive takeaways. Many of these we will go over in our feature game against the Nashville Predators.

Anna and I are back to cover yet another perfet week of Caps hockey. Our favorite team went 3-0-0 and are near the top of the Metropolitan Dvision at the time of the recording of this episode. The sweetest win of the week was by far the one against the Rangers. To celebrate we have extra coverage and commentary. Disclaimer our "player interview" was for entertainment purposes only (NOT A REAL INTERVIEW).

Despite the domination of the games, there is cause for concern. We discuss them in full as part of the final game coverage against the Blue Jackets.
