Our Caps survived a bit of a scare and stood tall.  Now they face another all too familiar nemesis, the Flightless Birds from the Steel City.  Analysis of the last 3 games, including who is the team's LVP (and runner-up).  Also some stats and a preview of the upcoming series which as of this time has an unknown schedule.  Plus some other gripes and salutations.  Enjoy.

Couple of emails, and a segment about the team's new whipping boy.  Seems there are others who have had the idea of letting his backside taste wood.  Or one of those comfy press box chairs,  Oh yeah, my, er, homage to said ashtray in the historical segment,

Show #16: Don't Worry, GET MAD!

The Caps' week that was--one great game....the other, not so much.  In this week's episode I talk about why it's nowhere near time to count our Capitals out.  Also we'll go into the one player that's due for some time off and not for the right reasons.  We'll do a couple emails and go over a piece of history where three games worth of hockey were once played in one sitting!

Caps came back from Cali....Cali...Cali. And it was bad, bad, bad.  On this edition we go over the trip to the Golden State, plus the major topic of discussion over at the annual GM's meeting.  In that same subject I will read the feedback as kindly provided by my fellow fans at CAPS365edit.

In the historical segment, I give a brief rundown of that which should be the REAL focus of our Washing Capitals efforts---the Stanley Cup.

The season rolls on, the Caps have hit 100 points.  But there are concerns that have shown up in their recent play.  The playoffs are in sight but our Capitals must focus on the big prize and I'll explain what I mean,  Also, a minor Twitter dust up with a fellow fan, and why the World Cup of 2016 needs to be thrown in the dishwasher.

Powerplay Point Podcast Show #13--I'M BACK!

I are back from my self imposed exile, Here to talk about recent goings on with the Caps and the NHL, especially the trade deadline.  Hoping for a long playoff push so I'm giving my thoughts on that as well. And of course there's the historical segment,  Enjoy!

Show #12

Happy Veterans Day/Remembrance Day (late) to all our men and women who serve, past and present.  I am announcing that this will be the last show--for a while anyway.  I will explain why.  It's mostly because of the ridiculousness that has gone on so far this season, both with the Caps and around the league.

Speaking of the Caps, I will discuss what I feel tends to be the problem with the team in our second period.  Hint--it's NOT the offense!.

And finally in the third period, in keeping with the Holiday theme, we will talk about how the NHL and the military have often been connected throughout the years.  And there was even a team in Ye Olden Days (pre-NHL) made up entirely of active members of a Canadian military unit.

Many thanks to those who have supported me for the past two years--I am not sure when, but I will be back soon.

Show #11

On our 11th show we will go over the shortened season that was for both the NHL and our Washington Capitals. In our first period, there's a rant against a certain Commissioner.  We will also discuss what impact the recent NFL (no that's bot a typo) court ruling may have on NHL player safety policy going forward.

In the second period we will introduce a new mini-segment that features another Capitals team---from the other side of the pond.  We will also discuss the successes and failures of this past season and how the team might stack up in their new divisional home---the Metropolitan Division.  There's a question to ponder as the Caps are at something of a crossroads--and the Powerplay Point Podcast wants your opinion.

Finally, in our third period, we will go back in time--twice.  We will visit two Stanley Cup playoff games that, ahem, also resulted in blowouts.  Good therapy for us Caps fans.

Show #10: Quest for the Cup Begins

THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME of the hockey year is finally here!  We have previews of all eight first round matchups.  We have a painstaking (more pain than staking) review of how the Caps' first round series may unfold. And I make a personal plea to all the wonderful Red Rockers lucky enough to be in attendance at the Verizon Center for every home game. Sorry, no historical section this edition.  You'll catch it in the next episode.  Please contain your disappointment.
