Anna and I wander into 2020 with 6 games to review: 3 wins, 3 losses plus one hell of an exciting comeback.
We focus on the two most recent games, both wins of course....well one almost wasn't. Almost. We also address the recent concerns about Our Caps taking WAAAAAYYY too many penalties and how we would handle things.

MERRY CAPSMAS!
We are back for another holiday episode, the last of 2019. Anna and I begin by declaring a drink war, which may have....consequences. Special thanks to Lisa Desabrais for being our unofficial official. I'm sure she's regretting every moment while reading this.
We dive into the past week's activities on the ice: three games, one of which was a stinker. Bad enough to set me into a really bad mood. Other mood inducing topics include Jonas Siegenthaler canine relations and Nick Jensen being Nick Jensen.
We continue as I try (emphasis on try) continuing a tradition with a Grinch-inspired poem about my being, well, a Grinch.
We close with a few random shots including: corporate money bad, fan money good...the passing of an inspiring Caps fan...a nice gift for a Caps Dad.
Anna and I will now ride off into the winter sunset of 2019. Thanks for listening and supporting the show! See you in 2020!

And BROOM goes the dynamite!
Yes our Caps are coming home from their long trip out West a victorious bunch having vanquished all four foes including the dreaded Golden State 3. Anna and I recap the on ice action with details.
However we must first start the show with a reminder that our fellow fan, Mitch 'Beard' Bates still needs our help, perhaps now more than ever. Recovering from a traumatic event is never easy and his case is certainly no different. Please send him your well wishes and if at all possible please donate to and/or spread the word about his GoFundMe page.
With the game recaps we go over just why it is that John Carlson is indeed Norris trophy worthy, among other highlights. In addition there are a few lowlights as far as Caps having to endure the dirty side of the game. But it's nothing that they can't get through.
We wind up this episode with a round of the old Match Game featuring recent events about a now former Cap, Chandler Stephenson. You the fans get a chance to chime in on what his trade worth should have been, whether it was for a 3rd rounder or a Quarter Pounder.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our U.S. listeners!
It's a short and somewhat somber week as we go over some recent hardships both personally and with the team. We quickly go over each of the three games in addition to recent events both on and off the ice.
Later, Anna and I get into a......spirited discussion about my least favorite part of the game---the shootout. My throat is still sore...
As another Hockey Fights Cancer month ends, be sure to keep those that you fight for close to your hearts and minds this holiday season. Thanks to all who donated and gave of their time and efforts.

So 2019-20 is 25% in the books. And we present to you a status report on Our Washington Capitals as only we at the PPP can...
But first Anna and I recap the week that was in lightning-like fashion. No not that Lightning. I mean FAST. Four games and 5 points recorded, not bad.
As promised, we turn it over to our fan discussion panel. Several questions were prepared each covering a key component of the team from an evaluation standpoint. Filling in admirably for a few planned guests that dropped out is Robbie Gross from the Sports on the Hill Podcast. He gives his always dynamic analysis on the Caps play thus far.
Next up is listener Ronnie Schronce, retired USN and longtime Caps fan. He gives his seasoned take on what has gone well and not as well with our Caps and even includes a rousing endorsement of our goalie of the future, Ilya Samsonov.
Finally our own Mermaid give her perspective on how the Caps have done so far and what needs improving. She pulls no punches in her always 1000% honest take.
Join us for a red rocking good time as we celebrate the now and look to the future. Our Caps have done extremely well for themselves. Can they keep it up?

Anna and I go over yet another winning week of Caps hockey...
But first a reminder to do your part in this Hockey Fights Cancer month. I announce my personal inspiration for the charity. Also, a well deserved bit of recognition for our military veterans on this side of the holiday. Several of our wonderful listeners are singled out for their contribution.
For the hockey we do another deconstruction of the week that was in Caps hockey. It was another three games played resulting in another three wins. It's enough to make most Caps fans' minds explode. Except if you've seen this before and are a slave to hockey history, which I am. I will admit that my happiness has it limits and so I have my doubts on this winning streak or at least its timing.
Anna of course begs to differ. But it's a Caps fan's right to overthink success, no? Sorry if it's a downer for some but you all know where I come from...
Post hockey discussion we tackle a recent news item, sort of. Actually we don't, I just retell the story of the Toronto 228th Battalion, the Northern Fusiliers and how they briefly took the pro hockey world by storm 102 years ago. Who says the military and hockey don't mix?
Let us honor the contributions made by our Service members on this Veterans' Day and Remembrance Day.

This week's episode is dedicated both to a very special young man in Anna's life as well as a historic victory for the DMV. As such our language is, shall I say....Nattily attired? You might need a dry Davey Martinez after we' done!
We begin with the somber duty of reminding all of the annual Hockey Fights Cancer month. Anna relates the story of a recent tragedy involving one of her students that happens to be related to this month's events. His passing will serve as an inspiration throughout the month that we involved in the NHL will use to continue the fight against cancer. On the upside we have an update on Mitch Bates who is one the road to recovery.
It's onward to the hockey---two kick-ass games to cover featuring some usual suspects (Tommy can you hear me?) and some new names as well. Winning sure is contagious ain't it?
One last serious note, if you know someone going through the fight---let them know you're thinking of them.
It does help.
Just doing our bit in this community called hockey fandom.

Welcome Children of the Night!
As I the Boo-Liner OnPoint and our best ghoul Anna celebrate Halloween in our own twisted way...or not.
Our Caps are still far away from Home Sweet Capital One Arena but very much continuing on their winning ways. We recap the results from the first four games including a detailed analysis of the incredible comeback in Vancouver last Friday night.
We close with a plea to our fellow Caps fans to help out another fellow Caps fan in need--Mitch "Beard" Bates. He suffered a truly (no joke) horrific injury recently and will need all the help he can get. Caps PA Announcer Wes Johnson has initiated the call to action, so please donate to Mitch's GoFundMe Page and help him out!
