Anna and I are providing this Special Edition of the show to serve as a preview for tomorrow night's Game 5 of the Capitals' Metropolitan Division semifinal against the Bunch of Jerks.
The first part is devoted to being a guide for the remainder of the series. What to look for, how the Caps can succeed and most importantly how to get the momentum of the series back ASAP.
The second part is nothing more than another old fashioned dustup between yours truly and the Mermaid herself. This one is about the coaching and neither of us pulls any punches.

I am no Mermaid. But my co host is.
We gather again to go over Games 1 and 2 in the Washington Capitals First Round Stanley Cup Playoff series against the Carolina Hurricanes. What was good, what was bad, what was mediocre. All of it, no stone unturned. Well maybe some anyway. After all it's only an hour show.
We end the show on a high by celebrating recent events including another title for the USA Women's hockey program as well as a special announcement about Heather Bingham.

It is that wonderful time of year again! Cup Defense!
Anna and I welcome back our very own Consigliere the one and only Christian Levesque from the True Caps Fans Facebook room. He provides his usual sage advice on what we can expect from this year's playoffs run. You might be surprised by who he believes is this year's most important player on the team.
We also give a brief but interesting take on the other seven series in the First Round, Anna chimes in on a few favorites especially one in the West that's close to her heart.
Hard to believe it all started almost a year to the day exactly, but here we are!

Happy day after the day after St. Patrick's Day!
Anna and I get our Irish on (not really). What we do get on about is the rocky road trip the Caps have been on. As usual, in our own unique way we break down what went right and what went wrong in these past three games. This includes a debate on tactics as well as an answer to the musical question---can one man break the momentum of an entire team?
Continuing our celebration of Womens' History Month, I go over a mini-recap of the NWHL Isobel Cup Final that was won by the Minnesota Whitecaps this past weekend. We also give a quick preview of next week's All Women's Call-In Episode starring Anna and a collection of our always knowledgeable and passionate female fans...including a very special guest.

Three more wins six more points and the win streak climbs to 7 games. Quite a birthday present, eh? Anna and I go over all three games since last episode in painstaking and humorous detail as only we can.
In all seriousness we still find a few flaws with the team worth discussing. Because perfection is a fickle subtle thing and as elusive and holding a soap bubble. Similar literary gems await those who listen.

Three games, three wins, who could ask for more as a Caps fan? Two fans who explain it all, that's who.
As only we can do, Anna Knox and I go through the good and not so good in this past week's games. Anna comes through with her usual stellar observations and discussion points, particularly about goalie positioning. Speaking of goalies, there's an ode (yes more poetry time!) about a certain goalie who cheated and got caught.
We close with a mention for a Caps Instagram account as well as an update on two particular Caps fans we have mentioned in the past.

I have returned!
And while I'm a year older and a week less sicker...the Caps quest to defend the Cup continues...
Anna surprises me with a Birthday gift, and we dash through the Caps' long six-game road trip. Some good games, some bad. All in all the Caps came out even Stephenson.
The NHL 2019 trade deadline came and went with the team making 2 deals, we go over the possible impact of both. SPOILER ALERT---I'm not sure dealing for another ex-Penguin is going to strike lightning twice.
The second half of the episode is spent with Caps fan Stewart Small in honor of Black History Month. He provides his most fascinating and unique perspective as an African-American Caps fan literally growing up with the team as a fan in DC.
