Anna and I go over both games with our usual....detail or attention to it. Naturally we focus on the game against Columbus which was part of our get-together with Robbie Gross of our podcast partners the Sports on the Hill Podcast.  

As it also happened to be Hockey Fights Cancer night for Our Caps we have our dedicatios for whom we carry on the fight.

For this week we have brought back three fourths of the stars from Episode 190 where we had our Roundtable discussion with several of our listeners and fellow Caps fans. Before we start there is a quick review of the three games in which the Caps once again went 2-1.

Now that we are about a month into 2023-24, we have gathered Doug Loosararian, Kasey Malone and Willem Bagchus once again to discuss our favorite team's progress. Anna and I go over the games in the past week vs. the Sharks, Islanders and Blue Jackets. Another 2-1 week but there's still a long way to go (and grow!) with Our Caps. The trick is not to get too high or low....

In a week where our Capitals won two out of three there were some...unusual circumstances. Anna I go over the goings on as usual.

 

On a personal note there is also a stern warning to those who take their privilege as fans of both the sport of ice hockey and of the Washington Capitals with no regard to the integrity of the game. Dumbassery is not to be tolerated this year.

So due to an unfortunate series of scheduling conflicts, the PPP finds itself hosted in the familiar confines of our excellent podcast content partners the Sports on the Hill Podcast

Our friend Robbie Gross acts as Producer and ably assists in a unique segment involving a video replay....unfortunately for the purposes of this edition, you'll have to rely on our dulcet tones describing the action.

We go over the qualities of this young(er) Washington Capitals team in this young season. Suffice to say they are still finding their footing, but there are signs that they may well be on their way to success in the future. Stay tuned!

Curtain is finally going up on the NHL season here in the DMV!

Ok, so it wasn't much of a game. But as usual Anna and I have you covered. 

But not before we go into a horrible piece of technology---the NHL app.  HOw badly does it eat rocks? Let us count the ways. Also a bit of commentary on the options for watching games including the new Monumental Sports app.

The highlight of the week though was my visit to the Pherm Brewing Company where and event hosted by Locker himself, Craig Laughlin for the benefit of the Laughlin Family Foundation. As we've mentioned in seasons past, this show is dedicated to those who, past present and future, are dealing with cancer.

Anna and I are back!

We begin another season by reintroducing ourselves and telling Caps Fandom who and what we're all about. Plus I have a message regarding how things will go for this season regarding this podcast's activities. Some of you may not be happy. A lot of you may not be happy. But please know that we're not happy until you're not happy about our making you not happy.

And of course we give a preliminary assessment of this year's Washington Capitals based on what we've seen in the preseason. Keep your eyes on this team because while they may not be contenders, they will be an entertaining team to watch.

Lending our one-of-a-kind coverage to this year's NHL Entry Draft as Our Caps seek to get on a path to retool the team towards greater results; we welcome fellow Caps fan and podcaster Marcus Clarence to lend his erudite analysis to this first step to redemption. 

In this first of two parts of the episode, we concentrate on the Caps six draft picks and how they fit into the Caps plans both now and in the near future.
