Three more wins six more points and the win streak climbs to 7 games. Quite a birthday present, eh? Anna and I go over all three games since last episode in painstaking and humorous detail as only we can.
In all seriousness we still find a few flaws with the team worth discussing. Because perfection is a fickle subtle thing and as elusive and holding a soap bubble. Similar literary gems await those who listen.

Three games, three wins, who could ask for more as a Caps fan? Two fans who explain it all, that's who.
As only we can do, Anna Knox and I go through the good and not so good in this past week's games. Anna comes through with her usual stellar observations and discussion points, particularly about goalie positioning. Speaking of goalies, there's an ode (yes more poetry time!) about a certain goalie who cheated and got caught.
We close with a mention for a Caps Instagram account as well as an update on two particular Caps fans we have mentioned in the past.

I have returned!
And while I'm a year older and a week less sicker...the Caps quest to defend the Cup continues...
Anna surprises me with a Birthday gift, and we dash through the Caps' long six-game road trip. Some good games, some bad. All in all the Caps came out even Stephenson.
The NHL 2019 trade deadline came and went with the team making 2 deals, we go over the possible impact of both. SPOILER ALERT---I'm not sure dealing for another ex-Penguin is going to strike lightning twice.
The second half of the episode is spent with Caps fan Stewart Small in honor of Black History Month. He provides his most fascinating and unique perspective as an African-American Caps fan literally growing up with the team as a fan in DC.

So it wasn't exactly a stellar week for Our Washington Capitals.
It is a very special episode nonetheless...
We zip through the recaps of the the last four games, results did not vary though the way there certainly did for each game. We point out a particular "lowlight" that provided an example of how rough a time Our Caps have had of it lately.
No Anna and I are NOT pleased with the results obviously but we are hoping for a much better effort as we discuss after the
recaps.
We then welcome our very special guests, Nicole Giordano of PUCKERUpSports who presents the perspective of more involvement
of women in mainstream sports culture. Please check out her team's site, they offer quality coverage of both the Caps and Bears.
Our second guest is (GASP!) a Flyers fan by the name of Kerry who deserves mention for his gentlemanly conduct during a Twitter
fight that involved our own Anna Knox...he may be a Flyers fan but it turns out he's a stand up dude as well.
We close with Don's customary Farm Report---SPOILER ALERT---the Bears had a MUCH better time of it than the Caps!

Another 3 games, another 2 regulation wins...I could get used to that. But what Anna and I can't get used to is the inconsistent play. All the good, all the bad ALLCAPS is on display here in our latest episode. Which features commentary on a Tiger owning a big nosed bigmouthed puffed up so called first liner.
We continue the hockey updates with Don Maclaren's farm report. Thing appear to be turning around for the Bears as they had yet another 2-1 week, yay to our boys in Hershey!
We also preview our next two episodes: next week we have two very special guests, a gentleman by the name of Kerry who is a Flyers fan (I know, I know but give him a chance, he did something noble) as well as Nicole Giordano from PuckerUpSports. She will be on to discuss her increasingly popular site which focuses on women's involvement in mainstream sports as well as Caps and Bears coverage.
Two weeks from now will be the NHL All Star break. We would like to get at least 2 listeners or more who would like to come on and discuss a variety of topics, a few of which were thrown out thanks to Anna's query on our Facebook page. Two questions are posed that may get to the heart of the Caps' recent problems. One by Anna herself and one sent in by listener Eric Hayes.
Speaking of teams on a roller coaster, we also recap the last 2 weeks of the Hershey Bears' season. Some good some bad.

Merry Christmas Caps fans!!!
Anna and I continue last year's traditional drunk presentation (sort of) beginning with some background info. We then get into the recap of last week's on-ice action. Once again, Meat Loaf's axiom applies.
We then give our best wishes to the wife of a beloved listener and fellow Caps fan Brian Bigham. His wife Heather is bravely battling breast cancer and we want the Caps fan universe (and beyond) to know about it. Get well soon Heather, we know you will kick cancer's ass!
Next up is the Week 12 Farm report from our Chocolate Soldiers from up north. They unfortunately were not as successful in their three games.
Finally we end 2018 with a one-of-a-kind poetic recap of the team starting with the regular season opener. Hope you enjoy!

Twas the week before Christmas and all through Anna's class...no students were stirring because the CAPS ARE STILL KICKING ASS!!!
Anna and I go through yet another awesome week that was for Our Caps. Three games played and all 3 in the win column. We go over in (somewhat) detailed and (definitely) entertaining fashion how those six points were gloriously obtained.
Anna poses a query seriously worth pondering about a recently returned Caps star player. Consider this....a Teachable Moment.
We are joined by Nikki, a fellow Caps fan who tends at The Big Stick, where this Friday's charity event for the Homeward Trails Animal shelter will be taking place. She gives all the details on the event plus we give her the fan spotlight so she can tell her story about why she loves this team.
We close the with weekly farm report provided by the research from Don MacLaren. Unfortunately the Bears weren't quite as successful on the ice as their parent club...
